Here is a very basic method that will teach you how you can repair your pressure-damaged screen at home. You don’t need to have complex technical skills unless the situation is worse.

Please keep in mind that this method will only work for minor damage and pressure spots on your LCD screen. If your screen is damaged a lot then switching the whole panel is usually a much better option rather than applying DIY fixes.

Step 1: Remove the Turn off your Screen and Remove Power

The very first thing that you need to do is remove all the components from your computer. If it’s a desktop then disconnect the power as well as monitor cables and if it’s a laptop then remove the battery and detach them from your computer.

Step 2: Place the Monitor/TV carefully on a flat stable surface

The next step is to carefully place the monitor or TV on a flat surface. We don’t recommend you place it upside down because this may result in damage to the LCD panel.

Also, make sure that the surface is soft enough otherwise it may result in additional problems.

Once you have successfully removed the diffused sheets, it’s time to clean your screen. You will need to take a soft cloth for cleaning the display. Make sure the cloth is super clean and cotton-based to prevent any pressure during the cleaning process.

While cleaning the LCD screen with a cloth make sure to apply very gentle pressure. You should rub the area in a circular motion while doing this. The goal is to redistribute the liquid crystals equally in all directions and prevent the pressure marks from appearing.

Step 7: Reassemble the Screen Carefully

Make sure that no pieces of dust are on the screen before you put it back together. It may result in dust particles ruining the screen.

Assemble everything very gently and make sure to attach all the diffused sheets equally. Otherwise, your monitor might have a slightly different color from one side to another which will ruin the whole purpose of the repair.

Just like the computer screen, mobile screens are also extremely fragile and must be handled with care. If you have any pressure marks on your phone’s LCD the best bet is to replace the LCD screen.

Although you can try cleaning it just like the above-mentioned method. However, this method barely works for mobile phones and other small displays. You will need to either take it to the service center or buy a new screen for yourself.

How to Fix Pressure Marks on Laptop Screen

A laptop screen is pretty much different as compared to a PC or a TV LCD screen. Therefore, fixing this issue is a bit more complex as compared to the above-mentioned methods.

You will have to get your laptop screen opened by a technician, clean it with isopropyl alcohol, detach its LCD and fit the new one in its place. You can also contact the service center for this job but they might charge you some money for it.
